Obo Okokon Ita is a seasoned pharmacist, accomplished entrepreneur, and dedicated humanitarian with a deep passion for community health, youth empowerment, and sustainable development. With a solid academic foundation — holding both a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and a Master of Science (MSc.) in Pharmaceutics — he brings scientific expertise and strategic vision to every role he occupies.
Mr. Ita currently serves as the Director of Strategic Programs and Health Initiatives at Aspire Development and Empowerment Foundation (ASDEF), where he leads the organization’s health-centered outreach and program strategy. In this capacity, he is responsible for designing and guiding high-impact initiatives related to public health education, drug abuse prevention, mental wellness, and youth development, particularly within underserved communities.
A member of the Board of Trustees of ASDEF, Mr. Ita plays a critical governance role in shaping the long-term direction of the foundation. His leadership is instrumental in aligning Aspire’s programs with national development goals and international best practices.
Beyond his non-profit engagements, Mr. Ita is the Chairman of JOSPA Group of Companies, a successful and diversified enterprise with interests in pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and allied sectors. Under his stewardship, JOSPA has grown into a respected conglomerate known for integrity, innovation, and social responsibility.
He is also an active member of the International Society for Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP), where he contributes to global efforts in substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery support. His involvement in ISSUP strengthens his work at Aspire, particularly in designing evidence-based interventions for young people and vulnerable populations.
